Look Back At 2024 Project List...

Here is a look back on the Project List I did for 2024 -

1.  Sew only what I need - I think I did fairly well with this with 2 skirts & 2 shirts.

2.  Sew one or more non-garments items a month.  This did not really happen.  The first four months of the year were spent working on slipcovers.  Totally burned me out.  Sewjo took a long vacation.

3.  This one did not happen because of burnout and now the sewing room is totally buried.

4.  I purchased 47 yards this year.  This that great?  No.  I could have done better but it is less than some years.

5.  I did purchase a few patterns.  I hate it when I forget that I have purchased a pattern and then wonder why.  I sold a few patterns as well but I think I may have purchased more than I sold.

6. I did work on fitting one pattern and I did use up some fabric on a couple muslins that I made.  I ended up deciding that the pattern was not for me.

It was not my best sewing year.  Honestly, my sewing time is limited to no more than about 2 hours a day generally.  Maybe 2025 will look better.

Fleece Gloves...

This week's scrap busting is aimed at those fleece scraps.  If you like sewing fleece, I have no do that there are scraps available. You will need between 1/4 yard and 1/2 yard total of fabric. Gloves are a little more challenging to make than some of the other scrap busting projects but very rewarding.

The link to the tutorial is here.  Hope you are inspired to use up those left bits and pieces of fleece.

Inspiration...A-Line Circle Skirt

This inspiration is a simple skirt:

This is the A-Line Circle Skirt in double-cloth wool blend.  Price tag: $228.00.  Details:  back zip, lined, dry clean, sits at waist, 29-inches long , 75% wool/25% polyamide.

I really wish that I could see and touch this skirt in person.  As usual, there is no perfect pattern.  I did find this one:

Thisis the Liesl & Co Garibaldi A-Line Skirt.  View B is very close to the silhouette of the inspiration photo.  It is missing the center front/back seams.  The seams would be easy to re-create by moving away from the fold and adding a seam allowance.  This would be fabulous in a black suiting.  Hope you are inspired to create something wonderful.
